In the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, a young band is redefining what it means to grow up in the music industry. Meet Recess, the alternative "epic pop" trio that's been turning heads since their inception in 2008. What started as a childhood passion has blossomed into a serious musical endeavor that's catching the attention of fans and industry professionals alike.

Recess's journey began when they were just kids - literally. The original members were only 7 and 9 years old (Vincent Fondale, vocals, and Alex Raz on guitar) when they formed the band, later adding 12-year-old keyboardist Anthony Fondaleto to round out their sound. This early start has given them a unique edge, allowing them to develop their skills and stage presence over more than a decade of performing.

Their dedication has paid off. Recess has already released two EPs, "Boundary Lane" (2018) and "From Dust to Gold" (2019), showcasing their evolving sound and songwriting abilities. But it was their appearance as semifinalists on Top Golf's "Who Will Rock You" TV show in 2019 that really put them on the map, leading to an influx of press and growing fan interest.

Fast forward to today, and Recess is riding high on the success of their recent East US tour, aptly named "Built on Broken Dreams." The tour's final show, a near-sold-out performance at Mahall's in Lakewood, OH, where they're opening for the established act "The Orphan The Poet," is a testament to how far they've come.

But what exactly is "epic pop"? It's a genre that blends the catchy hooks of pop music with the grandiose, cinematic qualities often found in film scores. Recess takes this foundation and adds their own alternative twist, creating a sound that's both familiar and fresh.

A peek behind the curtain via their YouTube channel reveals a group of young musicians who are anything but typical. Their behind-the-scenes videos showcase a level of dedication and professionalism that belies their years. It's clear that for Recess, music isn't just a hobby - it's a calling.

Their latest single, "The Sound Of Giving Up," was released just a month ago.

From being one of the youngest touring bands in the Northeast to now sharing stages with established acts, their journey is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and raw talent.
