Metal Force from the South: Dead Reckoning
Unleashing Metal Mayhem from Columbus, Georgia With RED Album (Released in May)
From Columbus, Georgia, Dead Reckoning has been an intense presence on the scene since 2012. Founded by guitarist Mike "K-OS" Spriggs, an active duty soldier at the time, the band has evolved through several lineup changes to become a formidable quartet, unyielding in their mission to shatter the vanguard and deliver unadulterated metal mayhem. They’ve played alongside veterans like Metallica and Anthrax, and will be performing at the YonderWays Metal Fest in Jonesboro, Georgia in three days (13th of Sept).
K-OS is joined by vocalist "Bleghboii" Taylor Monroe, who brings monstrous vocals and an electrifying stage presence. Ryan Lake sets the pace with his technical prowess on drums, and Brian "Brayne" Silverstein anchors the sound with a wicked thunderous bass. Together, they create a monolithic edifice of metal.
Back in May of this year, Dead Reckoning released their full length album RED.
RED is a brutal album. It blends newer and older metal styles, hitting hard. “Break Me” starts out the album, mixing up some really dark vocals that grate against Hell’s barricade. Second up, we have “Gallows”, an atmospheric, aggressive track with a great guitar solo. “PAWNS” is almost a summons to the powers that be:
“We play the game
And it always remains the same
We are the pawns of progress
The sacrificial batteries…”
And the rest of the album follows suit with the darkest sea of stamina they can muster up. The entire collection is fast, thick, and destructive. Fans of LOG and Arcanium are gonna love them. Take a listen here:
