Vide Emerges from the Bayou Shadows with "Decorated In Spiderweb"
Vide has been around a while, nesting in the shadows of Louisiana since 2018 when they put out some of their first "bayou black metal" tracks, Darkness and This Hell. Now they've unveiled a new single called Decorated In Spiderweb, a prelude to their upcoming EP by the same name set for release on May 2nd.
It's easy to recognize this music is heavily inspired by shoegaze stagers, My Bloody Valentine. The unique combination of screeching black metal and indie psychedelia atmosphere carries an unusual spirit, complimenting the dark energy of true, very old goth vibes. For those who find comfort in the velvet embrace of nightfall, Vide's sonic tapestry offers a haunting sanctuary.
The Parish, released in the summer of 2023, encapsulates the band's fusion of southern misanthropic vibrations. Its murky depths beckon to those who prefer the company of shadows, appealing to the nocturnal souls who find beauty in darkness and solitude.
Death Roll (2021) is unapologetic, dirty black metal fit for conjuring up the most reclusive of swamp demons. The album's raw energy resonates with the primal essence of Louisiana's mystical bayous, where ancient cypress trees stand as silent witnesses to centuries of occult practices and whispered legends.
Devotees of the darker, blood driven aesthetic will find themselves drawn to Vide's visceral soundscapes - music that pulses with the rhythm of midnight rituals and flows like fog across moonlit marshlands. Their performances allow glimpses into realms where darkness and reclusivity reigns eternal.
Vide will be pairing up with heavy hitters Eyehategod on April 18th at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas. They hit Black Cat Records and Comics on May 3rd (Dallas) and The End in Houston on May 4th. These rare appearances offer a chance for the shadow-dwellers and solitude-seekers to converge under the banner of authentic, atmospheric darkness.
