Heavy Alternative Rock Artists FeedTheRightWolf Releases Daydreamer This November

On November 1st, alternative heavy rock artists FTRW (FeedTheRightWolf) is gearing up to drop their newest album Daydreamer, a six-track journey that promises to blend the raw energy of post-grunge with the ethereal textures of shoegaze.

The band has already given fans a taste of what’s to come with the release of their single “Deathstare” this summer, followed by the title track “Daydreamer.” Drawing inspiration from acts like Basement, Thrice, and Seahaven, the band has crafted a sound that’s as gritty as it is reflective.

“Daydreamer,” the recently released single, exemplifies the band’s approach. It masterfully juxtaposes ambient shoegaze tones with hard-hitting riffs, creating a dynamic listening experience. The blend of dreamy atmospherics and punchy instrumentation sets FTRW apart in an alternative rock landscape.

In the new album, FTRW explores the intersection of heavy and melodic, of introspection and raw emotion. This group seems poised to make a significant impact in November with the release, potentially carving out a unique space for themselves in the ever-evolving world of alternative rock.

Daydreamer’ has a nice introspective feel. Can you talk about what inspired this song, and how it might be reflected in the album this November?

‘Daydreamer’ is about losing sight of what’s important in life. In fact, the chorus line itself was a moment where I was driving with my young daughter in the car and the thought popped into mind. She was daydreaming and didn’t have a care in the world at the same time I was rushing through traffic, surely thinking about the next work obligation or next bill to pay. it was certainly a positive and uplifting moment, and one that helped shape our latest single.

The album is diverse, thematically, but at it’s core  – decision making, how we live our lives and let others around us influence those decisions. Our opener, “Smile” pulls from the book The Count of Monte Cristo and touches on themes of vengeance. “Gethsemane” on the other hand is a look at how we trust people in power, even when we know they can’t be trusted.

Your music has great throwback vibes. How do you feel about balancing nostalgic elements and finding that edge to keeping your sound fresh?

This is a combination of what we grew up on as kids in the late 90’s and early 2000’s with bands like Silverchair, Deftones, Hum but even more so our diverse set of backgrounds and influences. There’s a post hardcore and punk “common denominator” from bands like Thrice, By A Thread, Strung Out, but we all kind of go in four different directions from there… everything from old school hardcore to post rock to pop where we try to bring in more palatable melodies and hooks.
